Yes when wisdom teeth erupt it hurts, because they have to perforate the gums. If your tooth isn't visible at all in your mouth, it will hurt until a part of the tooth creates a perforation, and you cant do anything to prevent, just careful when you eat. If the tooth is partially erupted then careful, it might cause pericornaritis , or infection of the surrounding tissue of the tooth, in this case you need to see a dentist that decides what to do
