Pnemonia real bad...still here help!!!?

Okay so my boyfriend got aspiration pneumonia from aspirating vomit into his right lung and now he's in icu on a ventilator breathing machine and he's been here for 5 days and everyday they've done an xray and its still there and bad too! They've had him on 3 different antibiotics and still nothing. Is that normal for them not to see any improvement yet? Please help I am Sooo scared. I mean I ask the nurses and docs and they beat around the bush too much.
