I took 2400 mg's of ibuprofen for my excruciating tooth pain. is it bad that i took so many?

also is it bad if i were to take 2400 mg's every 12 hours with food. i really dont want to go to the doctors, im a college student and cant afford it. i dont want to abuse the pain killer and i dont want to overdose so please let me know if any of what im doing is harming me.
