Coma with only brain stem working?

My girlfriend was found in a coma by her children. Found out she had an enlarged heart. She has been in a coma 14 days and drs. say there is no brain activity except for brain stem activity. What are the chances of any recovery. They are ready to do a trach on her since the ventilator is softening her esophagus.
